Being an avid fan of the X-Files series, I eagerly awaited the new X-Files: I Want to Believe movie. Yesterday, I’ve seen the movie and found it true intriguing and true to the X-Files way of examining cases, using both scientific (Scully) and paranormal (Mulder) explanations.
However, I was kind of disappointed, the plot was similar the Monster of the Week (MOTW) episodes in the TV series like crime and the paranormal.
I wanted it to the part of the “arc”, even if the movie is a stand alone series; I wanted it to deal with the alien conspiracy just like they did with the first movie.
If there is a next movie, and I hope that there will be one, Chris Carter should consider continuing the “arc”. It is more intriguing and interesting for me as a fan because the series ended with too much unanswered questions regarding the conspiracy.
